Financial Services Cup hits back of the net

08 July 2016

Front Events, the events company responsible for the Financial Services Expo, has today (8th July 2016) declared its charity six-a-side football event a ‘huge success’ after the event raised thousands of pounds for the chosen charity, WellChild - the national charity for sick children.

The one-day football tournament took place on Wednesday 6th July at the Goals football centre in Perry Barr, nr.Birmingham, and saw dozens of teams from across financial services battle for the winning spot.

After a day’s competition it was teams from The BTL Business, SPF, SortRefer, Crystal Mortgages, Skipton Building Society, Financial Reporter, Evolution Money, and Shawbrook Bank who battled their way through to the quarter finals.

The final eventually saw Skipton and The Buy to Let Business decide the destination of the trophy and it was Skipton who clinched the cup with a decisive 3-0 win.

The event, which was sponsored a number of industry firms including Positive Lending and Precise Mortgages, saw teams treated to the Premiership treatment throughout the day by way of managerial support from ex-professionals and Sky Sports personalities, as well as a post-tournament barbecue.

As well as raising money for the WellChild, winners and runners-up will be awarded a cash prize to be donated to the charity of their choice.

James Prosser, Director of Front Events, commented:

“The Financial Services Cup was an absolutely fantastic day and a huge success with lots of laughs and a healthy dose of competition which has helped raised a staggering amount of money for WellChild. The financial services community is known for its generosity and it was great to see so many companies represented in the tournament, for a fantastic cause - and a great day to bring the industry closer together. I’d like to thank our sponsors Precise Mortgages and Positive Lending, and congratulate the worthy winners of the FS Cup, Skipton Building Society.”
