Berkeley Alexander Launches New Buy to Let Landlord Product

23 September 2016

23rd September 2016: General insurance provider, Berkeley Alexander, has today announced the launch of a new buy to let landlord product on its panel that also offers cover for unoccupied properties.

Underwritten by Ergo Versicherung AG (UK Branch), which is a part of the Munich Re Group, the new product will sit alongside Berkeley Alexander’s existing portfolio of Landlord products on its quote and buy system from other insurers including Covéa, AXA, Zurich, Modus and Towergate. The launch will offer intermediaries more choice on buy to let cover and will also provide a real USP for brokers with clients who need to find cover for periods of unoccupancy.

Geoff Hall, Managing Director commented: “The demand for landlords’ insurance remains high as landlords continue to increase the size of their portfolios and new landlords enter the market. Periods of unoccupancy goes hand in hand with buy to let property and yet finding cover that also includes cover for unoccupied periods has long been an issue for brokers. We’re delighted to be filling this gap for our intermediaries – continuing to bring them the best choice of products and some of the most competitive rates on the market.”
