SMP boost 2017 roadshow schedule after record attendances

25 January 2017

After record attendances last year, the Society of Mortgage Professionals (SMP), have confirmed the expansion of their 2017 roadshow schedule from 10 to 12 regional events, beginning on 7 March.

The initial six spring events will cover a wide selection of mortgage topics, beginning with a market overview by Jeremy Duncombe of Legal and General Mortgage Club. Liz Syms, from Connect for Intermediaries, will return by popular demand and equity release specialists, Key Retirement, will bring delegates up to speed with all the latest news from one of the mortgage industry’s fastest-growing sectors.

There will also be a specific focus on the importance of protection throughout the day, together with a return of the popular regulatory briefings from the FCA.

And to complement the learning and discussion sessions, there will be a panel debate/Q&A featuring key lenders such as Kent Reliance, The Mortgage Works and Vida Homeloans.

Society of Mortgage Professionals operations manager, Vishal Pandya, commented: “We have increased the number of our face-to-face events this year as a direct result of continually increasing demand and excellent feedback from last year’s autumn roadshows. We can now cater for even more existing and new members.”

Pandya confirmed that the agenda has been designed to provide attendees with insight into important developments across the whole of the mortgage and protection market.

He continued: “As always, our focus is to deliver business-relevant CPD to members at a pivotal time for the sector. We aim to equip advisers with the knowledge to take advantage of the opportunities that will present themselves during 2017 and beyond, as well as making them aware of some of the challenges they will face.

“Our industry experts have been specifically chosen with our members’ needs in mind and there will be numerous opportunities for delegates to engage in Q&A sessions throughout each day.

Each of the Q1 events offers four hours and forty minutes’ worth of important CII and SMP-accredited CPD and will be held at the following locations:

7 March – North East (Ramside Hall)
8 March – North West (Lancashire County Cricket Club)
13 March – South East (AMEX, Brighton)
