Fintech Startup Cafe to feature at Festival of Financial Planning

21 July 2017

Silent disco elevator pitches and one-on-one meetings with interested delegates will feature as part of a Fintech Startup Cafe set to appear at a Festival of Financial Planning in November.

The Personal Finance Society (PFS) will partner with DigitalWealthInsights.com to host the Cafe, which will provide emerging fintech organisations the opportunity to showcase the latest technology and innovation to close to 3,000 delegates who are expected to attend the Festival.

The Cafe will form part of a central village green – a hive of activity featuring live music and entertainment, leisure and luxury brand exhibits, a VIP and media section, and a dedicated Festival Radio programme powered by Informed Choice’s award winning Chartered financial planner Martin Bamford. Delegates will also have the opportunity to test drive the latest Tesla Model S.

Close to 2,000 delegates have already registered for the event, which will take place at the NEC Birmingham on 7th & 8th November. More than 70 workshops, panel discussions and keynote sessions will be run concurrently, allowing attendees to tailor their own individual programme and enjoy their own unique Festival experience.

Personal Finance Society chief executive Keith Richards said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with F&TRC to deliver the interactive Fintech Startup Cafe – the latest addition to our Festival, which will be true to its name in delivering delegates much more than the usual conference experience.”

“The Festival represents a completely new concept for the financial planning profession – a mix of insightful presentations from recent pension ministers, market experts and inspiration speakers, complemented by interactive leisure and entertainment side activities to keep delegates immersed in the Festival experience throughout both days of the event.”

DigitalWealthInsights.com is a service hosted by the Finance & Technology Research Centre (F&TRC), and was created for professionals who want to understand more about the digital wealth management (robo advice) market in the UK and globally.

F&TRC Director Ian McKenna said: “Technology will continue to shape the future of financial planning and advice, and the Fintech Startup Cafe will offer an opportunity to showcase some of the latest technologies available to the profession.”

“The Festival promises to be one of the biggest events in the financial planning calendar, representing an unparalleled opportunity to reach more than 24,000 financial advisers who are members of the Personal Finance Society.”
