Movera moving up with key leadership team hires

14 November 2023

Movera, a progressive group of home moving businesses, has unveiled two key hires to fuel the firm’s next phase of expansion and tech-driven innovation.

The recently rebranded firm has made significant investments in both people and brand. This strategic move includes the appointment of Lisa Daniels as Head of Marketing and Communication, and Claire Smith, as Chief People Officer, leading a newly formed people and culture team.

These pivotal hires come at a crucial time for Movera, a company that has years of experience and trust in the industry, under former name ONP Group. The firm’s brands include ONP Solicitors, Cavendish Legal Group (CLG), Grindeys Conveyancing, LMS, Conveyancing Alliance (CAL), Broker Conveyancing, and Lavatech, creator of inCase.

Speaking on both appointments Nick Hale, CEO of Movera, commented: "It is a landmark moment for Movera as we continue to innovate the home moving business. Claire and Lisa will bring a wealth of experience to our culture and brand, as we steer the Movera platform towards its next period of growth.

“With their expertise, and the brilliant people in our brands, we are on a mission fuelled by a promise to help our customers move with confidence.”

Lisa Daniels, who joined Movera in September, is a powerhouse addition to the team. With twenty years of experience, including 6 years on executive leadership teams. Lisa has worked with globally recognised brands such as BT, Sky, Ericsson, and Vodafone leading go-to-market strategies for new products and services across multiple sectors. Lisa and CEO, Nick Hale, previously collaborated at BT, which adds another layer of synergy to Movera's leadership team.

Lisa Daniels commented: "Movera is here to do things differently, shake up the industry, and innovate the house moving process. We want people to look back in years to come, and recognise that Movera brought together a platform that changed the dynamic of our industry.

"Movera is committed to putting people, partners, and customers at the heart of its proposition and investments. That is precisely why I've joined this brilliant team."

Claire Smith, who officially joined Movera just days before the firms recent rebrand, brings a unique blend of legal and business development expertise to her role. Starting her career as a Personal Injury Solicitor, she later transitioned into business development as a partner at Pannone LLP, unheard of in a non-fee earning role.

With over fifteen years of experience in the Legal sector, Claire has also held senior roles with QualitySolicitors and Moneypenny. During her tenure, she led the transformative impact of award-winning cultures, with both companies ranked among the Top 3 in The Times' "Best Companies to Work for".

Claire Smith added: "We want Movera to be the employer of choice in our sector. Our newly formed people and culture team has a huge ambition to develop the very best employee value proposition for our 600 brilliant people. Having a celebrated company culture is key to attracting brilliant people, and brilliant people are the essence of the Movera brand.

"The opportunity to return to the legal industry, to develop an employee value proposition for Movera is an amazing opportunity."

Movera is steadfast in its mission to end the arduous aspects of home moving. By recruiting and training brilliant people, coupled with the creation of innovative technology, the company aims to put control back in the hands of its customers. This approach frees up colleagues to focus on what they do best - providing empathetic and exceptional customer service.
