Assurant Intermediary expands sales team with two senior appointments

16th June 2011: Specialist general insurance provider Assurant Intermediary has expanded its sales team, making it one of the most experienced and largest general insurance (GI) sales teams in the UK. Roisin Lindsay and Mark Bell-Langford have both been appointed as Senior Business Development Managers. As senior managers, they will be responsible for the field-based Business Development Managers (BDMs).? These appointments bring the overall size of the sales team to 17. Kevin Paterson, Sales & Marketing Director, Assurant Intermediary said: ?We have built a reputation for providing our broker partners in the UK with excellent service and some of the best products available on the market. We understand the needs of brokers ? and our service proposition has been built around them.? These two senior appointments reflect the growth we?ve experienced in the demand for general insurance and our desire to maintain those same excellent service levels.? I am proud to say that Assurant Intermediary now offers brokers one of the strongest sales teams in terms of its expertise and knowledge of general insurance.? Roisin Lindsay joins from banking giant Santander, where she spent a year as a BDM.? Prior to Santander, Roisin was a BDM for Assurant Intermediary in Ireland where she was responsible for identifying new business opportunities amongst mortgage brokers and intermediaries, promoting Assurant Intermediary?s range of general insurance products and bringing new clients on board.? She has also held senior sales roles at HBOS Intermediaries and Abbey Plc. Mark has over 18 years? experience in the financial services industry as an advisor and a business development manager. During this time, he has worked across South Wales and the South West of England and has built up an extensive knowledge and understanding of the differing requirements of both intermediaries and their customers in these local markets. Most recently a BDM for Assurant Intermediary, Mark has also held a variety of advisor and sales roles at Northern Rock, Alliance & Leicester plc, Countrywide and Abbey Life. - ends -
