Defaqto launches relevant life case study

19 January 2016

The latest publication from the independent researcher Defaqto sets out the opportunities for professional advisers presented by relevant life plans. Relevant life is a tax-efficient, cost effective means to provide individuals with life cover. It is a growing market but still largely untapped.

Commenting on the launch, Ben Heffer, Insight Analyst for Life and Protection at Defaqto, said:

“In this digital age with the focus on direct-to-consumer distribution, where consumers are expected to search for cover themselves and self-serve, professional advisers need to differentiate themselves.

“They can do this by delivering well thought-out effective strategies that are tax-efficient and cater for changing circumstances. Relevant life is a good example of where advisers can add value to their clients by addressing their personal protection needs and at the same time grow their businesses.”

In recent research from Scottish Widows, only 48% of people surveyed indicated that their households would be able to cope with the loss of income if they or their partner died, and 25% said they would rely on state benefits to make ends meet.

The publication is an independent resource for advisers with CPD accreditation that illustrates how relevant life can be used in a variety of circumstances to better serve clients through a series of case study scenarios.
