Thank you for your response and raising valid questions regarding our HPP Sharia Compliant Permissions. I appreciate your curiosity and I'd like to provide some clarity on this matter.

While it's true that many advisers may not have encountered a high demand for Sharia-compliant mortgages, it's important to note that there is a growing market for these products, and it's our commitment to staying ahead of the curve to cater to the diverse needs of our clients and AR firms/advisers who wish to advise in this area. We currently have advisers writing a lot of sharia-compliant mortgages with the likes of Gatehouse, Strideup, Nomo,  Ahli United. 

Here's why we believe these permissions are relevant:

Market Growth: The demand for Sharia-compliant financial products is steadily increasing, not only among clients who strictly require them but also among those who appreciate ethical and responsible financial options. By having HPP Sharia Compliant Permissions, we aim to be well-prepared for this growing market segment.

  2. Diverse Clientele: While you mentioned that your clients are primarily seeking high street mortgages, there are clients within this group who may also be interested in Sharia-compliant options, who would only consider a halal mortgage over a high street mortgage. Our advisers will give clients the option of high street Vs Sharia compliant and for some Muslims,  they will only consider a mortgage in line with their faith.  In the world of Consumer Duty, It's important to give clients the choice and ensure they are not disadvantaged. 

  3. Ethical Responsibility: Providing a range of financial options, including Sharia-compliant ones, demonstrates our commitment to ethical and responsible financial services. It's not just about the demand; it's also about meeting the ethical expectations of clients who may value this distinction.

It's one of the unique advantages we offer to our network members, which can be a compelling selling point when you're engaging with potential clients. We have had advisers join us on the basis of being able to access the HPP permission alongside our other benefits.
