23 Aug 2016 Case in point client is a UK citizen remortgaging their current property as a let to buy with Bank Of Ireland to purchase another. Everything going smoothly until they start asking questions regarding his business and who he works with. An international company worldwide sales. As a result the case gets pulled for 'Audit'. ( My opinion, case gets pulled from system to be sat on By Bank of Ireland hoping he goes away because we dont quite like the case but have no real reason to turn it down.) Been told by line manager and her line manager at Bank of Ireland that the case is being looked at but no update. For 2 weeks!! Senior management at head office in Bank of Ireland looking at it tells the Area sales manager to 'Stop chasing the case and back off.' My client at the point of switching lenders as the case taking way too long. His ongoing purchase mortgage went through in a matter of a few days with exempilary service from another provider. I understand that cases need to be checked and appreciate in our industry where there may be cause for concern that things can be delayed. But to sit in a black hole for 2 weeks with enough information on a client to sink the Titanic and still not make a decision, or to be told by senior management at Bank of Ireland there is no way to find out what is going on in this day and age is just NOT on. In my 20 years plus in the industry this has got to be the worst and most frustrated case i have ever had to work on. Bank of Ireland you win the gong for most useless service. Fact!

11 Sep 2008 how can you issue a mortgage offer to somebody & then decline the application, saying we can't tell you why?
22 Aug 2007 When they have competitive products they are great, and good service. They product range at the moment is off the boil
4 Apr 2007 We have just used them for the first time in a while. Paperbased application underwritten within 24 hours of receipt and valuation instructed. Very impressed.
11 Apr 2006 Use them for BTL and can't complain. Online facility would be nice, but not essential for me.

4 Feb 2006 this lender could do so well if it gave brokers an online aip & submission facility...they are losing out big time, they have some great b2let products but need to allow arrangement fees to be added over & above 85% ltv....
