19 Dec 2016 Nationwide/TMW have taken four-five clients of mine without any warning whatsoever. Being a one man show, this has hurt my business. I am very upset with these people but it seems no one can do anything about them. These people have no morals and do indicate a double standard lenders. They behave like those cowboy estate agents. BDMs keep changing like someone changes their bedsheets. I could say worse. Moreover, their BDMs do not seem to know much in any case. A disgusting lender who is willing to go at great lengths in destroying small businesses and does not care about broker relationships.
30 Jun 2016 They are the worst lender to deal with. They never get back when promised and use every excuse to decline a case -even AFTER accepting the DIP - just because client is not on electoral roll! Always have problems with Nationwide - rates are good, service sucks
5 Feb 2016 they seek any excuse to ditch the whole process if anything needs explaining/uploading. new contact each time, no one takes case ownership. (my BDM says this will change)
27 Jan 2016 Their affordability calc is a nightmare at the lower end. Client on £18k basic has been happily paying her £424pm to Halifax for last 2 years, no other debts and frugal lifestyle, wanted to switch her 10yr £45k mortgage to Nationwide for the 5yr fix. Affordability says DECLINE you can only have £36000!!
27 Jan 2016 Useless processing. No thought, no comonsense. BDM given up and left now as well, so no one in my corner.
24 Mar 2014 Nationwide are driving me mad/ I have to wait a couple of months sometimes for payment. It depends on when completion happens but 2 months is ludicrous. Think of all the interest they earn!
23 May 2013 Poor service levels and poor quality of staff, the fact that they aggressively dual price, I really dislike this Company these days!
14 May 2013 Nationwide - remortgage, applied thursday, offerd friday, getting good turn around times with Nationwide on all cases at present.

24 Feb 2008 No BDM but Glasgow office good to deal with, no long waits on phone etc. U/W easy to speak to & helpfull.
7 Feb 2008 No BDMs to help you. Inflexiable, good products. THEY OBVIOUSLY DONT LIKE BROKERS. I will not use them again.
1 Feb 2008 Don't use for remortgages if the clients have NBS mortgages currently. NBS will let you make the application until the bit about applicants' current NBS mortgages have to be redeemed. At this point, the e-app will not go forward because NBS does not want to pay a proc fee. To think that I placed the client with the NBS 2 years ago. NBS - maybe mutual but very unethical. No broker should place any cases with the NBS as it thinks your client becomes their client for the remortgage. No network should offer NBS mortgages because networks are broker business and NBS blatantly does not value brokers. Avoid.

4 May 2007 The new website seems to have brought a new attitude from Nationwide. They used to be the worst mainstream lender I dealt with by far but are now probably the best.
5 Feb 2007 Beware their new website. It instructs the survey and debits the fee the instant you move to the next page and not when you reach the end to submit. Best not to even start the app until you know it needs to go ahead or, better still, use MTE. 2 year fixeds have been good, though can be a little inflexible and bureaucratic.
15 Jan 2007 Apparently it now takes up to 2 MONTHS to issue a remortgage offer. I suggest that they stop taking new business and concentrate on processing whst they already have. It is getting worse. BEWARE.
21 Nov 2006 I wanted to contact a BDM but nationwide don't have them. Som I though I would use the website, no phone numbers but a contact from that said someone would get back to me within 48 hours. I did the case with anoither lender. Do nationwide care about broker business, I think not!!
1 Aug 2006 Have gone downhill on service recently. I had a vert low LTV case which was fast tracked, offer came out on wrong rate, after 6 calls to chase correct offer I was asked for payslips and bank statements as the case was no longer fast track, so be warned!!!
21 Jul 2006 Use them quite a lot, generally good but habitually issue offers with silly mistakes on, also be ware, unless you tell them catagorically that the client wishes to use their own sols on a remo, they assume their own will do! Chester branch seem OK if a little dizzy at times. I have to send apps in standard post as no one will sign for rec or spec delivery (?)
29 May 2006 Read with amusemnet comment regarding Swindon processing centre. Lost application when hand delivered!!!!! Lost section 125 paperwork when hand delivered in same envelope as application. Esculate to manager who apoligises does nothing then passes to member of staff, who does not know about problems as Manager writes no notes on case. Nationwide a joke when it comes to protecting you clients important documents.
17 Feb 2006 Have not used them in the last couple of months but I have been able to keep tabs on things through the local branch in the past (I know this will change). Generally a good lender.
6 Feb 2006 they get remortgages done very quickly, but tend to struggle with purchases, i.e changing their mind after d.i.p and the client has had valuation done and paid for.
3 Feb 2006 Used to be a favorite of mine but not anymore. Swindon processing are hopeless (4 wrong offers on one case)and if they think I,m sending my clients elsewhere to arrange a (details insisted upon)repayment vehicle (with the chance of lost business)then they can think again.It is also impossible for them to have an IT/Software rating above 0 as they don't posess any. I go to IF for all my non HLC business now thank you very much.
