Since 2014, Fluent Money Group, the Bolton based second charge broker and distributor, has supported Education for the Children (EFTC), as its chosen charity. EFTC, an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) specialises in providing education for impoverished children in Guatemala.

In that time, through running events and pledging an amount for every loan completion made by the business, Fluent Money has been able to donate nearly £84000 to help run the School of Hope, where EFTC educates 462 children from the poorest backgrounds and well as support another 215 further education students.

According to Fluent’s Chief Executive, Kevin Hindley, the relationship with EFTC has deepened with every year that has passed since the partnership started in 2014.

He said, “When we first got involved with EFTC, we were blown away by the work they were doing among Guatemalan children. It put into stark contrast how lucky we are in the UK and how much we take for granted in terms of education and social care. Unlike these children and their families, very few of us in the UK have any concept of real poverty, which relegates those who really do have nothing not only to a life of penury but also a lack of any formal education to help lift themselves out of this wholly destructive and vicious cycle.

In the years since we partnered with EFTC, our commitment to helping them has grown. Our staff have run fund raising events and corporately, via our golf days and other initiatives, we have tried to support the great work that EFTC does to provide the kind of education that will help the children improve their life prospects. In the four years, we have seen just how dramatic the positive effect of a good education can have.
