New Head of HR appointed at Leek United

23 March 2018

Leek United Building Society has appointed Jane Stevenson as its new Head of Human Resources (HR).

The role is Jane’s first within the financial services sector, after spending the last 20 years in senior operational HR posts in Northern Ireland.

She joins the Society from her position as Head of HR & Development with the Bryson Charitable Group in Belfast, where she had overall executive-level responsibility for the group’s HR and people development strategy.

Prior to that, Jane spent five years in a similar role as Director of People Solutions at BDO Northern Ireland.

“Joining Leek United has been a real read-across from my own values, putting people at the heart of everything we do,” she says.

“It’s about having the right people with the right skills in the right roles, and maximising the talent we have.

“I’m looking forward to ensuring that the Society constantly develops the people it has, continues to attract new talent and that the working environment is conducive to that.”

Originally from Kidsgrove in North Staffordshire, Jane began her career with Royal Mail, working in learning and development, before moving to Northern Ireland.

She now lives in Stockton Brook, on the edge of Leek United’s Staffordshire Moorlands ‘heartland’, and in her spare time enjoys keep fit, Pilates, walking and cooking.

She added: “Leek United has a great culture and atmosphere, with friendly, welcoming people – an ethos that carries right through to the services it provides – which was apparent from my very first interview.”
