‘Growing’ support for new children’s centre

Staff at Leek United are adding to the ‘growing’ support for a new, multi-million pound children’s centre in North Staffordshire…
Manager Lisa Worth and her team have quite literally put the ‘branches’ into their Newcastle Branch office by launching their own fundraising drive for Caudwell Children's '1000 Trees' campaign.
The project aims to create an inspirational natural woodland of 1,000 trees on the land surrounding The Caudwell International Children’s Centre* – due to open later this year – at Keele.
And Leek United’s Newcastle team want to raise enough money to purchase their own tree to include in the planting project.
“The new centre is a fantastic project, right on our own doorstep, which will benefit so many children, and we wanted to give it our wholehearted support,” said Lisa.
“Local businesses have already been incredibly generous in donating a range of goodies that we’ve put into a hamper which we’re raffling off, and we’re hoping that customers and shoppers will now help us to raise as much as we can for the ‘1000 Trees’ appeal.”
Once established, the 1000 Trees woodland is aimed at providing a peaceful and beautifully landscaped natural playground for children and their families to enjoy during their visits to the centre.
Andy Bailey, Caudwell Children’s Campaigns Manager, said: “The 1000 trees project is an ambitious one, but it’s slowly becoming a reality, thanks to the support from businesses across the area.
“We are so thankful to have the backing of the staff and customers of Leek United in Newcastle – not least as the new centre is just two miles up the road!”
*The Caudwell International Children’s Centre will be the UK’s first independent purpose-built facility dedicated to providing multi-disciplinary assessment, support and research into neuro-developmental conditions, including autism.
