Just Mortgages strengthens commitment to customer experience and consumer choice by creating new Operations Manager role

17 May 2018

Leading mortgage broker Just Mortgages is expanding its senior management team as part of its ongoing commitment to growth and success focusing on the customer experience.

2017 was Just Mortgages’ most successful year to date, with a 62% rise in profits and 40% increase in mortgage volumes while the self-employed division has grown by 500% in less than a year.

In response to this rapid growth, Just Mortgages recently appointed two new Financial Services Directors and is now expanding its senior team even further by bringing in Jessica Brome as Operations Manager – a new role for both her and the business.

Jessica has been working at Just Mortgages for 17 years, starting as a mortgage adviser in 2001 and most recently, Client Service Manager where she was responsible for the Client Services Team at Head Office in Colchester. Jessica hopes to use her new role, combined with her many years of experience within the business, to help strengthen the Just Mortgages brand even further.

“Growth at Just Mortgages has been substantial over the past few years, and this is obviously fantastic news for the business, but it is paramount that customer experience remains a top priority.

“To ensure our brand remains strong, we need to make sure we have the right support in place so that we can maintain that vitally important link with our customers, which is why this role has been created.”

The mortgage industry has gone through a lot of changes in the past few years with digital interaction, including robo-advice, becoming more and more dominant, but Just Mortgages is not scared to show that it still believes in the face to face model, as Jess explains:

“Our ethos is very much that customer experience and the customer journey are absolutely paramount. We know the industry is moving towards a more digital led service, but we are confident that our model reflects what is best for the customer in both advice and service.

“Taking on a mortgage is the biggest financial transaction a person will ever make. When people make that level of commitment, we believe that they want a real person there to help them through it, not a computer.”

Jessica’s promotion follows the appointment two new financial service directors, who themselves were also promoted from within Just Mortgages current crop of talent. Jessica says she thinks this says a lot about Just Mortgages’ commitment to the development of its staff.

“At Just Mortgages, developing people is so important. By promoting from within, we have senior staff who not only have great experience in the mortgage industry but they also truly understand the culture of the company and its ethos.”

John Phillips, group operations director at Just Mortgages and Spicerhaart added: “With the promotions of Tommy, Steve and Jessica I think we now have the strongest senior management team we have ever had.’’

“These guys have all worked together for a long time, they have grown together and between them, they have a real wealth of knowledge and experience. They know how the industry has changed over the years, and they know how and why Just Mortgages as a business has adapted to those changes.

He concludes: “We are entering an exciting time of growth, and I am confident that in her new role, Jessica can continue to take the business forward.”
