Leek United is ringing the changes in the appearance of staff for 2019…
From this month (January), all customer-facing teams throughout the Society’s branch network are sporting new-look corporate uniforms.
Jackets, trousers, suit waistcoats and skirts remain a business-like navy blue – but it’s in the scarves and ties for female and male colleagues that customers should notice the most significant makeover…
“The colours featured in their design represent all our key product areas: purple (mortgages), pink (savings), orange (insurance) and blue (financial planning), alongside the Society’s familiar shade of corporate green,” explained Ashbourne Branch Manager Katie Massey, who played a major role in organising and overseeing the design, ordering and manufacture of the new uniforms.
“These colours already feature prominently on our website, posters and product literature, and the new scarves and ties now emphasise a complete corporate look and style throughout.”
As part of the project, Katie canvassed the opinions of staff, researched different styles and manufacturers, and set up ‘sizing days’ to enable colleagues to try on the new-look clothing.
“The new uniforms give us all far more choice and flexibility in how we dress for work, whilst at the same time looking smart, professional and absolutely in line with the Society’s modern corporate look,” she added.
The new uniforms were designed and manufactured by a locally-based company, and have now been introduced for all 85 branch staff in Leek United’s Cheshire, Derbyshire, Shropshire and Staffordshire branches.
It represents the first change in staff uniform for four years – although the Society’s old uniforms will certainly not yet have outlived their usefulness; they are being donated to The Donna Louise*, one of Leek United’s main charity beneficiaries throughout 2019.
Chris Belyavin, Regional Fundraiser for The Donna Louise, said: “Our local charity shops offer some great bargains for shoppers and we welcome donations of all shapes and sizes, from clothing to large furniture items.
“We’re so grateful to Leek United for their continued support, and every penny raised from the sale of their old uniforms will go towards supporting local children and young people with life-limiting conditions, and their families, both at the Hospice in Trentham and in their own homes.”
