Second annual National Later Life Adviser Conference to take place in June

23 April 2019

AIR Group, the collective of companies covering a range of retirement and later life services, has today (23rd April 2019) announced that its second annual National Later Life Adviser Conference, in association with the Equity Release Council, will take place at the Madejski Stadium, Reading on the 25th June.

This year’s Conference is on the theme of ‘Combating Challenges in Later Life Lending, Living and Advising’ and will bring a host of speakers and experts together to help unpick and solve the many challenges facing all stakeholders in the later life market.

The Conference is targeted at advisers working in the later life market, dealing with mature consumers and looking to broaden their knowledge and expertise, and this year comes complete with a knock-out key note speaker, former WBC Heavyweight boxing world champion, Frank Bruno.

Sponsored by provider, more 2 life, Frank will be discussing his sporting life and looking at the challenges of planning for a future when you have mental health issues.

Other speakers confirmed for the Conference include:

  • Lynda Blackwell (ex-FCA) looking at the regulatory challenges facing advisers in the later life market.
  • Tim Farmer (founder of TSF Mental capacity assessors, author of ‘Grandpa on a skateboard’ and registered mental health nurse of 20 years) outlines the challenges to the consumer in terms of mental capacity.
  • Keir Hall (motivational speaker from Yellow Door) will show attendees how to advise with confidence.

Providers who are sponsoring the Conference and will be attending include: LV=, Retirement Bridge, Hodge Lifetime and Just. Taking place between 10am and 4pm the Conference will provide lunch and refreshments plus all attendees receive structured CPD and AIR Group’s exclusive Reward Points.

Tickets for the Conference are £30 for Later Life Academy (LLA) – the commercial and training organisation for later life advisers – and £50 for non-members. They can be bought from: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/national-later-life-adviser-conference-2019-tickets-55279346012

Stuart Wilson, Group CEO at Answers in Retirement Ltd, commented:

“2019 sees the return of the biggest conference dedicated to advisers dealing with older consumers and we have a knock-out day planned, capped by our key note speaker, Frank Bruno. We were delighted with the launch event last year and now plan on this becoming a regular event in the advisory calendar. This year we have raised the bar further in terms of the speakers taking part and providers who will be exhibiting, and with a series of main platform guests, panel discussions and breakout sessions as well as the opportunity to meet all our exhibitors, there really is something for everybody.

“We have also increased ticket availability this year and expect another sell-out event. This year is all about the challenges that exist in the later life space and we have chosen speakers who will delve into the challenges our customers face, and we as advisers have to confront. Regulation, capacity, technology, demographics are just a few obstacles to be faced but we plan to provide all attendees with plenty of information, resource and support to tackle them and to ensure they have all the tools necessary to grow their later life advice business.”
