HLPartnership opens its Autumn Later Life Lending seminars to all advisers

02 September 2019

HLPartnership, the largest privately owned mortgage and protection network, is following up its successful Spring seminars on Later Life Lending, by announcing new dates and venues in September not only for members but also for advisers who have an interest in this burgeoning sector and are looking to explore ways in which they can become involved.

The dates and venues are:-

10th September - Village Hotel Club Leeds South, Capitol Boulevard, Tingley, Morley, Leeds LS27 0TS

11th September -Sketchley Grange Hotel & Spa, Sketchley Lane, Burbage, Hinckley, Leicestershire
LE10 3HU

12th September - Brand Exchange Members Club, 3 Birchin Lane, London EC3V 9BW

The events run from 10.00 to 15.00 and uniquely are not only open to the networks’ own members but to all advisers who have an interest in later life lending in all its forms.

Hosted by HLP’s Managing Director, Shaun Almond, with the help of Legal & General Home Finance, Aviva and One Family, the seminars will explore topics that allow advisers to put Later Life lending front and centre for customers nearing or already in retirement looking to raise money.

He said, “With £1 trillion worth of property owned by over 55’s, it is estimated that the later life lending market will double in the next ten years and we believe, with our membership of the Equity Release Council, that there is a considerable opportunity for our members to involve themselves in the sector. HLP has invested heavily in supporting advisers and helping them to best become involved either to become fully qualified across all aspects of this increasingly important channel or to have access to our inhouse experts to whom they can refer customers.

Shaun continued, “Just under £4 billion of equity was released by homeowners over the age of 55 in 2018, with over a quarter of that figure being drawn down in the last quarter of the year. At a time when traditional mortgage sources at risk from moves by the Regulator to re-introduce execution only, here is a sector with high demand and a growing need for advice. With the support we can offer in the Network, advisers will come away with a clear pathway to open up and develop a new and profitable business channel.”
