Stockport’s mutual, Vernon Building Society, has appointed Caroline Shard as a business development manager in the broker team, starting immediately.

Caroline is highly experienced in the mortgage market having worked with Vernon for 14 years, most recently as an underwriter.

She joins intermediary sales manager Tom Gurrie and mortgage business development manager Kevin Baggs to help mortgage intermediaries find funding solutions for all their clients.

The move marks another step in Vernon’s vision to be the first choice for bespoke mortgages, which includes a strong focus on broker mortgage business, in specialist markets such as later life lending, complex buy-to-let, and residential lending.
Caroline said: “I can’t wait to get started in this new position, supporting the growing intermediary mortgage team at Vernon.

“It’s an exciting time to be part of this small but ambitious mutual and I look forward to meeting and speaking to brokers about their clients’ mortgage needs.”
