A gift of comfort and support for hospice families

05 March 2020

LEEK United staff have helped give some extra emotional support to adults, children, young people and families at a Midlands hospice.

A donation by the Society’s team at Derby Branch could help Treetops Hospice Care* to fund additional bereavement and counselling sessions for someone dealing with a life-limiting illness or bereavement.

The money was raised through a recent raffle and in-branch collection boxes at the Derby city centre branch, and presented to Laura McWha, Treetops’ Corporate Partnerships Manager.

“We are very grateful for Leek United’s kind donation of £157.53, and are thrilled to be working so closely with the Society,” said Laura.

“A big ‘thank you’ to everyone at the Derby Branch for their ongoing support; contributions such as this make an enormous difference.”

Treetops Hospice Care has been the nominated charity of choice for Leek United’s Derby & Ashbourne teams for a number of years.

Branch Manager Jane Heath added: “Staff and customers alike are hugely supportive of our fundraising for Treetops, and we will continue – in conjunction with our colleagues at Ashbourne – to concentrate all our efforts throughout this year on raising as much as possible for them.”
