Roma Finance appoints three new directorships

24 January 2022

Roma Finance is delighted to announce the appointment of three new directors. Steve Smith has been appointed Sales Director, Michael Allison as Operations Director and Matthew Severs will become Finance Director, replacing Keith Richardson who becomes CFO.

All three are internal appointments following an uplift of over 95% in business written over the last four months of 2021.

Steve originally joined Roma in 2019 as Business Development Manager, becoming National Sales Manager in May 2020 and Head of Sales in June 2021. Steve will now continue to roll out his highly successful sales strategy as Sales Director to take the business forward on a further increased trajectory.

Michael joined Roma as Head of Transformational Change in May 2021 from Together, where he worked for 13 of his outstanding 21 years in the finance industry. Michael has created a revolutionary journey for the Roma team and will now lead its pioneering bionic transformational program and CSR strategy.

Matthew has been with the business for just over one year, joining as Financial Controller. His innovative approach to Treasury Management has made him an exceptional candidate for this essential role.

Roma is focused on creating a Lending Less Ordinary experience for all its stakeholder partners and these new appointments will put the fire power behind its exciting plans for 2022 and beyond. The business has experienced multiple record-breaking months during the second half of 2021, with its loan book growing by more than 50% over the same period.

One customer recently posted on LinkedIn, “For anyone who is considering a Roma product, imagine the experience you are currently having with your current lender - rip up the pages of headaches and requests for everything including inside leg measurements and speak to a team where there is a real life person who knows and understands your situation and wants to work with you and your needs rather than their shareholder’s - give them a call and see what happens.”

Steve Smith said, “I am thrilled to have been given this next opportunity within the business. We are all focussed on delivering the best possible experience for everyone who works with us, and we are all aligned in our goals and what we want the business, our partners, our customers and our team to achieve. It is a very exciting time to be at Roma.”

Scott Marshall, Managing Director at Roma Finance added:

“I have said this before, but I have never been as excited about the future of Roma as I am right now. We have fantastic people in every department and this is the perfect time to create this organisational structure with inspirational and innovative leaders. Steve, Michael and Matt have all demonstrated their skills and commitment to the business and this is largely why we are now in such a fantastic position.”
