Keynote Speaker and Seminar Programme for MBE Manchester Announced

The mortgage industry’s premier intermediary event, Mortgage Business Expo (MBE), has today (7th March 2023) announced that Kate Davies, Executive Director of the Intermediary Mortgage Lenders Association (IMLA), will be the keynote speaker at MBE Manchester.

Kate started her career in local government, and then worked at the Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) as Senior Policy Adviser and its specialist on mortgage regulation. She also served for six years as a Non-executive Director at Darlington Building Society and succeeded Peter Williams as IMLA’s Executive Director in 2018.

MBE Manchester will once again take place at Manchester Central, the northern venue for MBE, on 21st March 2023.

Rob Barnard, Director of Intermediary Relationships, Pepper Money, will deliver his opening remarks and the seminar programme will begin at 10.15am.

The sessions on the day are as follows:

  • Google Digital Garage: Social Media Strategy. How you can build a social media strategy into your business plan.
  • Equity release panel debate – Kelly Melville-Kelly (Equity Release Council), Scott Burman (Pure Retirement), Sam Ludkin (Lloyds Banking Group), Phil Quinn (Livemore) and Graham Evans (Equity Release Supermarket).
  • Google Digital Garage: Writing for Social Media. How to sharpen your copy, learn ways to develop a written tone of voice and tips for creating copy for limited space online.
  • Specialist finance debate – Rob Barnard (Pepper Money), Doug Hall (3mc), Eloise Hall (Kensington), Nick Parker (Together) and Richard Crisp (Mansfield Building Society).
  • Buy-to-let panel debate – Phil Riches (Keystone), Louisa Ritchie (Fleet Mortgages) and Ian Hall (Landbay).
  • Google Digital Garage: Digital Marketing Strategy. Learn how to build a digital marketing strategy for your business by learning about the different digital marketing channels available and how they can be applied to your business objectives.
  • Marketing 2023: how to use it to keep clients and win new ones. Jeff Knight (Grey Matter Marketing Solutions) and Rosalia Lazzara (Manuka Media) will examine how to use marketing more strategically to retain more clients, maximise referrals and find new clients.
  • Consumer Duty panel debate – Gurpreet Chahal (Accord Mortgages), Martin Reynolds (SimplyBiz Mortgages), Thomas Brett (Contact State) and Tony Hall (Saffron Building Society).

In addition, the FIBA Annual Conference will be taking place as an integral part of the wider MBE Expo in Manchester.
