HMRC Transaction data comment from Black & White Bridging

Oli Bland, director of lending at Black & White Bridging, said:
“At first glance, these numbers look pretty catastrophic. But I’m not overly concerned. This is the tide washing back out after the stamp duty tsunami. Take a moment to get your head out of the weeds and look up at the horizon: the future is pretty bright. UK business confidence hit a nine-month high in May with an 11-point jump in the Lloyds Business Barometer erasing the drop seen in April – when Trump’s tariff hikes sowed turmoil in financial markets. Those findings echoed recent PMI data, which showed sentiment for the year ahead at the highest in five months. It’s a bit bumpy at the moment – but we just need to hold steady.”
