Barclays UK appoints Roland McCormack as Head of Mortgage Intermediaries

25 June 2025: Barclays UK today announces that it has appointed Roland McCormack as its Head of Mortgage Intermediaries. The newly-created MD role is a senior leadership position that reflects the bank’s broker-first approach and its continued commitment to the intermediary market.

As Head of Mortgage Intermediaries, Roland will be responsible for leading Barclays’ intermediary channel strategy, delivering a strong broker experience, and will play an integral role in shaping the design and delivery of the bank’s wider mortgage journey.

Roland will assume his position on July 1st and report directly to Lee Chiswell, Head of Mortgages, as part of a refreshed leadership structure designed to strengthen Barclays’ intermediary presence and market share.

Roland brings over 30 years’ experience in the sector, most recently holding senior leadership roles at TSB Bank where, as Mortgage Distribution Director, he built TSB’s intermediary proposition from the ground up.
