Suros Capital helps client to fund property renovations using his fine wine collection as security

31 July 2025

A fine wine collector, with outstanding property bridging finance, required a top up loan of £125,000 to complete property development renovations. In order to facilitate this extra funding quickly, he was able to fund the money he required by securing the loan against his wine collection through Suros Capital.

The client was introduced by a bridging finance broker who had read about how a client’s luxury assets, such as fine wine in this case, can be used to finance a loan through Suros Capital.

We were able to advance the loan of £125,000 the client required secured by wine from such vineyards as Romanee Conti, Petrus and Clos de Tart Grand Cru Monopole, among others.

Ray Palmer, Director at Suros Capital, said,

“Here was a client with existing bridging finance, who needed further funding to complete renovations on his properties. Clearly, he was unable to access any further funding via traditional bridging channels but making use of his wine collection as collateral, Suros Capital was able to provide the full £125,000 he needed.

Thanks to his collection of fine wine , the client was able to finance the funds he required, secured against part of that wine collection.”

After the wine was inspected in a bonded warehouse, Suros Capital was able to complete the deal within 72 hours.
