Swansea Building Society renews sponsorship of Swansea RFC for 2025/26 season
22 August 2025
Swansea Building Societyhas renewed its sponsorship of Swansea RFC—affectionately known as ‘The Whites’—for the 2025/26 season, marking another chapter in a long-standing partnership between two of Swansea’s most iconic institutions.
The continued backing from the Society reflects its unwavering commitment to investing in the local community—not just through financial services, but by supporting the sporting and cultural life of the region.
Founded in 1872 and a cornerstone of Welsh rugby, Swansea RFC is steeped in history. As one of the founding members of the Welsh Rugby Union, the club has claimed four Welsh Premier Division titles and notched up legendary victories over global rugby giants, including the All Blacks in 1935 and Australia in 1992.
The club has long been a springboard for world-class talent, from George Lockwood Morris who featured in Wales's first ever international game in 1882, right through to the present day, with the likes of Alun Wyn Jones, Gavin Henson, Dan Biggar and new Head Coach, Jonathan Thomas, among those who proudly wore the famous white jersey on their way to international glory during the professional era.
Founded in 1923, Swansea Building Society continues to thrive in a changing financial landscape by staying true to its values: personal service, local decision-making, and a long-term commitment to members. With branches in Swansea, Mumbles, Carmarthen, and Cowbridge, the Society remains one of the few independent mutual building societies in the UK.
Its support for Swansea RFC is one of several community sponsorships and charitable partnerships the Society will continue to champion throughout 2025.
Alun Williams, Chief Executive Officer at Swansea Building Society, said:
“We’re proud to continue our support for Swansea RFC for another season. This partnership goes beyond branding—it’s about championing local pride, tradition and excellence. Just like the club, we have deep roots in Swansea and a strong connection to the people here. We’re excited to see what this season brings and will be cheering the team on every step of the way.”
David Blyth, Board Member at Swansea RFC, added:
“Having the ongoing support of Swansea Building Society is hugely important to us. Their belief in what we’re building here—both on and off the field—means a great deal. We’re thrilled to be working with them again for the 2025/26 season and look forward to another successful year together.”
