Atom bank certified as a Great Place to Work®

Atom bank, the UK’s most trusted savings bank on Trustpilot, has been officially certified as a Great Place to Work®, having achieved a Trust Index™ Score of 82*.
This prestigious recognition follows a period of significant growth and investment in Atom’s people and culture, further solidifying its reputation as a leading employer in the North East and wider banking sector. The certification underscores Atom’s deep commitment to fostering an inclusive and progressive workplace culture.
Workplace innovation
The achievement is the result of a number of key initiatives and milestones implemented by Atom. The bank recently moved its near 600-strong workforce to The Pattern Shop in Newcastle, an iconic HQ, while continuing fully flexible working practices. The significant investment is designed to create a hub for the firm to facilitate recruitment, onboarding, training and collaboration for its people across all areas of the business.
Atom has consistently challenged traditional ways of working, since it became what was then the largest UK business, and first bank, to move to a four-day working week for all employees with no loss in salary, in November 2021. The shift has been an overwhelming success and has had a hugely positive impact on Atom as a great place to work.
Talent nurturing and support
Furthermore, Atom has enhanced its support and inclusion efforts by improving its family leave offering and launching other key initiatives, including the introduction of Menopause Champions and the creation of the Atom Women’s network, which now boasts over 100 active members.
Atom’s team has expanded significantly over the last 12 months, welcoming 57 new people, including eight graduate trainees. In addition, internal career development is thriving, with 62 promotions and role changes and 26 secondments completed, showcasing the bank's commitment to nurturing talent from within.
