e4 Strategic extends partnership with Caversham House to strengthen AI-led capabilities for VERSA

17 December 2025

e4 Strategic has announced the extension of its partnership with Caversham House to embed people-first, advanced AI capability into the continued development of its flagship VERSA platform.

The collaboration accelerates all facets of VERSA’s production environment while building long-term internal capability and skills. These AI-led advances provide faster development cycles and more scalable internal operations.

To date, these AI-led advances have already delivered measurable impact across e4’s production teams, seeing:

  • Sprint velocity increased by more than 50%, driven by higher-quality inputs, faster onboarding and development
  • Around 20% code review time saved through combined human-and-AI review.

The partnership reflects e4’s ongoing commitment to using AI responsibly, not as a replacement for people but as a tool to empower them.

VERSA has been developed in the UK over the past four years in collaboration with some of the industry’s leading mortgage lenders and conveyancing experts, backed by over two decades of experience delivering similar solutions to South Africa’s largest mortgage lenders and conveyancers.

Simon Slater, CEO of e4 Strategic, commented:

“Caversham House and its founder Chris Hornby are world-class experts in this field, having worked with major organisations in high pressure environments in the US and the UK, to help them sustainably strengthen their internal AI capabilities. VERSA is all about helping lenders and conveyancers modernise the post-offer journey, and this partnership equips e4 with the most modern tools available and the AI adoption know-how to use them safely and effectively.

“As a tech company, this can be a long road at times, but we are focused on building lasting capability rather than short-term fixes, enabling us to give our clients faster development cycles, with strong compliance, and more scalable operations, all via VERSA. This also strongly supports the AI functionality being embedded into the platform itself to support users.”

Chris Hornby, Founder and CEO of Caversham House, added:

“AI adoption sticks when people are given the tools, training, and expertise to reshape their own workflows. By working across the e4 teams, we’re embedding that approach into VERSA, ensuring e4 remains at the forefront of its own AI journey, while giving users the benefit of fast but sustainable improvements on an ongoing basis, regardless of which tools or models are currently in fashion. And it’s been a real pleasure to be part of that transformation with the e4 teams.”
