Interbridge Mortgages appoints Peter Griffiths OBE as Chair

Interbridge Mortgages, one of the UK’s leading second charge lenders, has announced the appointment of Peter Griffiths OBE as its new Chair, strengthening the company’s board with one of the UK financial services sectors most experienced leaders.

Peter brings more than 40 years of senior leadership experience across banking, building societies and financial services transformation. He is widely recognised for leading complex, customer-focused organisations through periods of growth and change, and for his strong governance credentials.

He previously served as Chief Executive Officer of Sainsbury’s Bank from 2012 to 2019, overseeing significant strategic and operational transformation, and as CEO of Principality Building Society between 2002 and 2012. In recognition of his contribution to the industry, he was awarded an OBE in 2010 for services to UK financial services.

He has also held prominent leadership roles across the industry, including Chair of the UK Building Societies Association and Chair of CBI Wales. More recently, he has taken on the role of Chair at Connells Group, reflecting his continued engagement at the highest level of the industry.
