33 building societies unite for brokers in landmark industry-first 2026 event
24 February 2026
Registration is now open for the Building Societies Show 2026, a landmark new event that will see 33 building societies come together under one roof for the first time ever in a unified show of support for the intermediary market.
Taking place at Coventry Building Society Arena on Tuesday 21st April 2026, the event is built around a simple but powerful idea: one room, one day, and 33 building societies united for the first time with a single focus - supporting brokers and driving better client outcomes.
The event will showcase the unique opportunities, flexibility and product strengths that building societies offer brokers and their clients, while providing direct access to senior decision-makers and sector leaders.
Brokers can register for the Building Societies Show 2026 at: www.buildingsocietiesshow.co.uk
The inaugural event is proudly supported by headline sponsors Knowledge Bank, Mortgage Brain and One Mortgage System who are partnering with the event in its inaugural year.
A heavyweight seminar programme built for today’s market
The education agenda has been carefully curated to reflect the issues shaping advice in 2026, featuring senior voices and recognised experts from across the sector.
The programme includes:
- A dedicated first-time buyers’ session with the Building Societies Association and Stephanie Charman of AMI, examining affordability, access and policy.
- A forward-looking UK housing market briefing from Rightmove.
- A focused session on the rapidly-growing later life lending and equity release market, featuring representatives from the Equity Release Council, UK Money and Mortgage Advice Bureau.
- Insight into the Renters’ Rights Act and buy-to-let implications, featuring panellists from The Mortgage Works and Connells.
- A future-facing session on technology and AI-powered broker tools, led by Pexa, Knowledge Bank, and OMS.
- A critical discussion on mortgage risk and cyber security, delivered by UK Finance.
Designed to deliver practical, actionable insight, the show combines keynote addresses, structured breakout sessions and dedicated networking opportunities - ensuring brokers leave with knowledge they can immediately apply within their businesses.
The Building Societies Show reflects a shared ambition across the mutual sector to collaborate more closely with intermediaries and demonstrate the collective strength of building societies in supporting diverse customer needs.
Rob Oliver, distribution director at Dudley Building Society, said:
“The Building Societies Show represents something genuinely different. For the first time, we are bringing societies together in one room with a single focus – supporting brokers. This is about collaboration over competition, education over noise, and demonstrating the depth of expertise that exists across the mutual sector. Brokers play a critical role in delivering strong customer outcomes, and this event gives them direct access to insight, decision-makers and practical knowledge they can take straight back into their businesses.”
Charlotte Grimshaw, head of intermediaries at Suffolk Building Society, added:
“In a busy events market, we wanted to create something that truly adds value. By uniting as building societies, we can provide brokers with focused, high-quality content in a format that is easy to engage with. This show is about giving something back - strengthening relationships, sharing expertise and working together to improve outcomes for advisers and the clients they serve.”
Laura Sneddon, head of sales and distribution at Hinkley & Rugby Building Society added:
“When I look at the current mortgage landscape, it is clear to me that building societies are the true unsung heroes of the mortgage industry. They are willing to look at the human being behind the application, not just the data points on a screen. This event specifically shines a light on that innovation and will give mortgage brokers a direct line to people who can actually help with those complex clients. This isn’t just a trade show; it’s the place to learn how to turn a ‘no’ into a ‘yes’ for your clients.”
