Expert lender delivers rapid student accommodation refinancing

A specialist lender has completed a complex refinancing transaction for an experienced portfolio landlord, enabling the exit from multiple bridging loans and supporting continued investment in student accommodation across two cities.

Redwood Bank, working in partnership with specialist broker Unique Property Finance, provided a total of £3.7 million in term lending for a portfolio of residential properties converted into student HMOs in Lincoln and Liverpool.

The refinancing replaced short-term bridging facilities with longer-term funding structured across several SPVs, while also releasing capital for future acquisitions.

Facilities included a combination of residential investment and HMO mortgages, structured on interest-only terms with five-year fixed rates at up to 75 per cent LTV. In one instance, Redwood completed a refinance in Lincoln from submission to drawdown in just two weeks.
