Mansfield Building Society launches new mortgage broker portal, blending human expertise with latest technology
21 April 2026
Mansfield Building Society has today announced the launch of its new mortgage broker portal, marking a significant step forward in its commitment to blend specialist, human led lending with modern, intuitive technology designed around the needs of intermediaries.
The launch follows Mansfield’s strategic decision to partner with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as its core technology provider - a move that signals the Society’s long-term ambition to provide brokers with greater speed, transparency and control, without compromising the personal underwriting approach it is known for.
For many brokers, the market has become divided between automated lenders offering slick digital journeys, and specialist providers whose systems lag behind, despite strong underwriting expertise. Mansfield’s new Digihome platform aims to bridge that gap.
Head of Sales - Tom Denman-Molloy commented:
“Our goal has been to combine the best of both worlds - providing the efficiency brokers expect and the human judgment they rely on. Technology should enhance how we support intermediaries, not dilute the individuality of our lending decisions.”
The new Digihome portal has been designed by TCS with the support of the expert Mansfield team and using feedback from Brokers. It focuses around the complex and nuanced cases that brokers typically place with Mansfield, including, for example, those with complex income streams; credit blips; non standard employment arrangements such as self employed, contract, multiple role or recently changed employment; as well as later life lending.
The platform delivers a smooth, clean and more efficient experience for brokers from day one, including:
- Streamlined DIP and application journeys to reduce duplication and improve accuracy
- Affordability checks built directly into the DIP stage, helping avoid late-stage issues
- Real time case updates via email and SMS for both brokers and their clients
- Improved visibility across the full application lifecycle, reducing the need for chasing
As development continues, Mansfield plans to integrate its acceptance criteria and product rules directly into the system - not to introduce rigid automated decisioning, but to provide accurate early assurance that an application will progress, and allow underwriters to focus on those cases that require human expertise.
While larger lenders continue to invest heavily in automation, Mansfield remains committed to a model where technology supports - not replaces - personal assessment.
Jon Stones, Managing Director at Mortgage 1st and a longstanding Mansfield intermediary, said:
“Our clients rarely fit a textbook profile, so we need lenders who are flexible without being inefficient. Mansfield’s new system strikes that balance perfectly - it speeds up the parts that should be simple, while leaving room for underwriters to properly assess more unusual cases.”
Denman-Molloy added:
“The future of specialist lending is hybrid. Intelligent systems should do the heavy lifting, while experienced case handlers focus on the individuals behind the application. This launch is a major step in strengthening that model for brokers.”
The new broker portal forms the foundation of Mansfield’s ongoing technology investment, with further enhancements planned throughout 2026 to support product selection, case packaging and intermediary collaboration.
