United Trust Bank Delivers £125k Second Charge Loan from Application to Completion in Just Two Days
27 April 2026
United Trust Bank (UTB) has completed a £125,000 second charge loan in just two days from application to completion, highlighting the impact of a series of enhancements to its underwriting and application processes introduced over the past few months.
The debt consolidation case progressed seamlessly through the Bank’s streamlined process, with the application submitted on the 14th April, supporting documentation received on the 15th, and the loan completing a day later. There were no additional post-offer conditions, no rework and no delays, allowing the case to move straight through to completion.
The speed of delivery reflects the benefits of a focused programme of improvements designed to reduce friction, improve clarity and accelerate case progression.
Key second charge loan process enhancements recently introduced by UTB include:
- More decisive, front-footed underwriting, delivering quicker and clearer credit decisions
- Reduced documentation requirements, cutting unnecessary admin
- A significant reduction in post-offer conditions, enabling cleaner offers and faster completions
- Improved case packaging guidance for brokers, helping well-presented cases move quickly
- A simplified end-to-end process with fewer touchpoints and less rework
These changes are already delivering tangible results, with well-packaged cases progressing significantly faster and, in some instances, completing within 24 hours.
Andrew Ferguson, Commercial Director – Mortgages, BTL & Bridging, United Trust Bank, said:
“We’ve listened carefully to broker feedback, taken a hard look at our systems and requirements and made tangible improvements to how we process second charge applications. By cutting out unnecessary friction, streamlining our underwriting and focusing on what really matters, we’ve significantly accelerated the journey from application to completion.
“When a case is well presented, we’re now able to move extremely quickly – and we’re already seeing our deals fly through. This case is a great example of what UTB is making possible.”
