HNW client takes advantage of Warhol artwork to secure a loan from Suros Capital

Short term luxury asset lender, Suros Capital was able to assist a HNW client to borrow against a portfolio of Andy Warhol artwork, including the famous Campbell’s Soup picture and the iconic Marilyn Monroe piece, and a diamond jewellery collection.
The retired businessman is an avid art collector but needed to undertake extensive home improvements. The client is asset rich and needed £310,000 to finance his ongoing property enhancements as well as some lifestyle purchases and was referred to Suros Capital by an art advisory firm because more traditional funding sources could not or would not help.
Having assessed the value of the artworks and diamond collection, Suros Capital was able to advance the full £310,000 secured against the artwork and diamonds within 72 hours of the initial enquiry. The loan is being repaid from the sale of another artwork at a major art auction in the autumn.
Speaking about the loan, Suros Capital’s director Ray Palmer said,
“Our client came to us on the recommendation of an art advisory firm because he needed an alternative way to finance his home improvements. Thanks to his art collection and its rising value, we were able to accommodate his needs. Rather than wait for slow decisioning from traditional lenders, Suros Capital was able to lend the funds he needed within 72 hours. “
