Industry Leaders Unite Behind Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter Lunch

26 June 2026

HSBC, Virgin Money, Nottingham Building Society, Landbay, MAB and L&C among first organisations to support flagship wellbeing event

The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) has announced that a growing number of leading organisations have already committed their support to its second Alcohol-Free Lunch, taking place on Friday 9 October 2026 at the prestigious Grand Connaught Rooms in London.

Early supporters include HSBC UK, Virgin Money, Nottingham Building Society, Landbay, Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) and L&C Mortgages, demonstrating the industry's shared commitment to improving mental health and wellbeing across the mortgage and specialist finance profession.

The event, now firmly established as one of the sector's most important wellbeing gatherings, will bring together lenders, distributors, brokers, networks and industry partners for an afternoon dedicated to open conversation, collaboration and positive action.

Unlike traditional networking events, the MIMHC Lunch provides an inclusive, alcohol-free environment that encourages meaningful discussion around leadership, workplace wellbeing and the practical steps businesses can take to better support their people.

Since its launch in 2021, MIMHC has grown into a movement supported by more than 400 signatory organisations, collectively representing over 30,000 people working throughout the mortgage industry. Through fundraising and industry collaboration, the organisation continues to expand access to Mental Health First Aid training, wellbeing resources and practical support across the sector.

Jason Berry, Co-Founder of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter, and Group Sales Director at Crystal Specialist Finance said:

"It's incredibly encouraging to see so many respected organisations committing their support so early in our process. Their involvement demonstrates that mental health and wellbeing are no longer viewed as optional initiatives but as fundamental elements of building successful, sustainable businesses.

Every organisation supporting this event is helping us create lasting change across our industry. Together we're investing in healthier workplaces, stronger leadership and ensuring more people know that support is available whenever they need it."

Funds raised through sponsorship and attendance will directly support the work of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter Foundation CIC, helping to fund further Mental Health First Aid training, educational initiatives and preventative wellbeing support throughout the industry.

With many sponsorship opportunities already secured, MIMHC is now inviting additional organisations to become involved and stand alongside some of the sector's most recognised brands in supporting one of the industry's most important causes.

Will Lloyd, Co Founder of MIMHC and Group COO Brightstar Financial and Sirius added:

"The momentum behind this year's lunch reflects just how far we've come as an industry. I'm hugely grateful to HSBC, Virgin Money, Nottingham Building Society, Landbay, MAB and L&C for leading the way. Their support sends a powerful message that together we can continue breaking the stigma surrounding mental health while creating workplaces where people can genuinely thrive."

The MIMHC Alcohol-Free Lunch will take place on Friday 9 October 2026 at the Grand Connaught Rooms, London, bringing together senior leaders from across the mortgage and specialist finance sectors for an afternoon of inspiration, networking and fundraising in support of better mental health.
