500 Voices. One Healthier Industry. Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter launches landmark fifth annual wellbeing survey

30 June 2026

The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter (MIMHC) has today announced the launch of its fifth annual Mental Health & Wellbeing Survey, inviting everyone working across the mortgage and specialist lending sector to help shape the future of workplace wellbeing.

Launching on Wednesday 1 July 2026, this year's survey carries a clear ambition: to secure 500+ completed responses, making it the largest and most influential survey in the Charter's history.

Adding further purpose to every response, Pepper Money has committed to donating £2 for every completed survey to the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter Foundation CIC. If the industry reaches its target of 500 responses, £1,000 will be invested into MIMHC action which includes sustaining Mental Health First Aid training across the mortgage sector.

Now in its fifth year, the MIMHC survey has become one of the industry's most valuable measures of employee wellbeing, providing insight into the pressures experienced by advisers, lenders, distributors and support teams while helping shape practical initiatives that improve workplace culture.

Over the past five years, the findings have influenced employer wellbeing strategies, supported the growth of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter and helped drive the delivery of accredited Mental Health First Aid training, educational events and industry-wide wellbeing initiatives.

Jason Berry, Co-Founder of the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter, said:

"This is much more than another industry survey. Every response represents somebody choosing to improve the future of our profession.

Over the past five years we've listened, learned and acted on what our industry has told us. The result has been meaningful change, from expanding Mental Health First Aid training to creating initiatives that encourage healthier conversations, stronger leadership and better support across our workplaces.

This year we're asking the industry to come together behind one simple goal - 500 voices. Not only will those responses provide our most comprehensive picture of wellbeing to date, they'll also unlock £1,000 of funding from Pepper Money to help us train even more Mental Health First Aiders.

Five minutes can genuinely help create lasting change."

Paul Adams, Sales Director at Pepper Money, commented:

"We're proud to support this year's survey because meaningful change starts by listening. Every completed survey will help build a better understanding of wellbeing across our industry while directly funding practical support through the Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter Foundation CIC.

We hope colleagues from every part of the mortgage sector will take a few minutes to participate and help achieve the shared goal of 500 responses."

The Mortgage Industry Mental Health Charter has now grown to more than 400 signatory organisations, representing over 30,000 people across the UK mortgage sector. Through its Foundation CIC, every pound raised is reinvested into initiatives that improve mental health awareness, education and support throughout the industry.

The survey opens on 1 July 2026 and is open to everyone working within the mortgage and specialist lending community.
