Legal & General Surveying Services sets out ambitions for next phase of growth

19 August 2026

Legal & General Surveying Services (LGSS) has outlined its ambitions for the next phase of its development, following a year of investment in its leadership team, technology and the development of new and existing industry partnerships.

Since transitioning to new ownership, the business has focused on strengthening its foundations, expanding its senior leadership team, growing and developing industry partnerships and continuing to invest in the technology and expertise that support its valuation services.

Looking ahead, LGSS plans to build on that progress by increasing its visibility across the mortgage market, continuing to enhance its technology capabilities and reinforcing its position as a premium partner for lenders handling increasingly complex valuation requirements.

Richard Sexton, managing director of Legal & General Surveying Services, said:

“The valuation market has changed significantly over recent years, the rate of change is picking up speed, and our business is evolving with it. We’ve invested in experienced people; we’ve strengthened our technology and continued to focus on nurturing industry relationships.

“That work has given us a platform for growth. The next chapter starts now, and we’re looking forward to sharing more about what that means for our clients and the wider market.

"The market doesn't need another valuation firm trying to process more cases faster. It needs firms that know when technology is appropriate and when professional judgement makes the difference. That's the business we're continuing to build."

The business completed more than 376,000 valuations in 2025 and continues to support lenders through a combination of experienced RICS-regulated surveyors, advanced data capabilities and technology designed to ensure the right valuation approach is applied to each individual case.

The business believes the valuation market is entering a new phase, with lenders increasingly looking for partners that combine experienced surveyors with modern technology and robust risk management. As more straightforward cases are supported through automated processes, the ability to assess complex properties accurately and consistently is becoming an increasingly important point of differentiation.

Further LGSS developments will be announced in the coming weeks as the business continues to build on its long-term growth strategy.
