Broker survey reveals positive response to Asset Advantage investment in systems and service
20 August 2026
SME funding provider Asset Advantage has found that more than half of brokers have noticed a positive impact from investments made in its systems and documentation processes over the past year, according to new research.
Of the brokers surveyed, 43% describe the impact as good, while a further 10% said they have heard positive feedback from other brokers. Only 5% of brokers reported a negative impact, while 18% said they have seen no impact – largely reflecting those who had not yet had sufficient opportunity to use the new processes.
Speaking to the funder, one broker said: “Quicker decisions and document requests means that dealing with Asset Advantage feels much slicker.”
Alongside improvements in systems and processes, Asset Advantage has strengthened its broker communications, made a number of broker-facing appointments and added additional staff to key internal departments to drive efficiency across the business. It is all part of Asset Advantage’s investment in growth as it looks to best serve commercial finance brokers and meet increasing demand for business finance among SMEs.
In the same survey, the majority of respondents described Asset Advantage’s credit appetite and approach to risk as good, highlighting the funder’s flexible, commercial approach to funding and its willingness to work with brokers to understand and progress proposals.
Gary Thompson, sales director at Asset Advantage, said:
“For commercial brokers, the quality of a funder’s processes is arguably as important as its funding proposition. Any systems or processes that create unnecessary friction ultimately cost brokers time and can jeopardise both the deal and the client relationship. Funders therefore have a clear duty to their brokers to make sure processes are straightforward, support is forthcoming and that proposals can progress efficiently.
“Our investment in growth over the past year has been focused on making sure that processes are simpler and more efficient, bringing in changes behind the scenes and on the front line that make a tangible impact to the day-to-day experience of submitting and progressing proposals. It’s encouraging to see that this is beginning to be recognised by brokers, although we’re fully aware that there is always more we can do.”
Asset Advantage has been providing business finance to SMEs for nearly two decades, offering asset finance through hire purchase and finance lease. Funding is available up to £500,000 and is used for a variety of business cases, including the purchase of new equipment, machinery or technology and to fund the likes of commercial refurbishments and fit-outs.
