Sesame outpaces market with 32% lending volume growth as adviser numbers climb to 760

02 September 2026

  • Network delivers double-digit year-on-year growth in lending volumes, mortgage completions and protection cases in H1 2026
  • 181 advisers joined the network in H1, Sesame’s strongest recruitment period in recent years

Sesame Network has reported a 32% year-on-year rise in lending volumes in H1 2026, as strong adviser recruitment, higher productivity and growing protection activity helped the network outperform the wider mortgage market.

Across the same period, the broker network, part of Sesame Bankhall Group, posted a 27% rise in mortgage completions and a 28% increase in protection written compared with the same period last year.

Sesame says the results have been driven by a combination of recruitment momentum and targeted improvements to adviser support, designed to remove friction, simplify day-to-day activity and help advisers spend more time with clients.

181 advisers joined the network in H1, with recruitment growth far outpacing recent previous years. The momentum has taken Sesame back to 760 advisers and 260 firms – a 25% and 10% year-on-year increase respectively, supported by a strong pipeline of firms looking to join.

Sesame has also strengthened its adviser support, including mortgage and protection roadshows, dedicated training programmes and platform enhancements. Together, these improvements supported a 13% increase in productivity.

Sesame director Toni Smith said the network was successfully delivering on its growth strategy.

She said: “At Sesame, we’re focused on giving advisers the support that genuinely makes a difference – freeing up more time to spend with their customers and helping them to start, run, grow and ultimately exit successful businesses.

“That’s resonating in the market. We’ve built strong momentum in recruitment and have a healthy pipeline of high-quality firms looking to join, drawn by a proposition that’s built around long-term partnership and practical support.

“We’re also seeing encouraging growth in protection, with more advisers recognising the value of those deeper client conversations and the real difference they can make to client outcomes.”

Technology is central to Sesame’s growth strategy. In April, the network launched OneView, a web-based platform designed to bring key tools, data and processes together in one place, giving advisers clearer visibility, reducing duplication and making it easier to manage day-to-day activity.

The platform is being developed in-house as an enabler and multiplier for advisers and firms, helping turn better insight into more efficient ways of working, stronger oversight and more capacity to focus on clients. Further enhancements are planned over the coming months, including the integration of key oversight and compliance functions into OneView.
