Hope Capital Property Finance marks 15 years in the specialist finance market

Hope Capital Property Finance is celebrating 15 years in the specialist finance market, marking its transformation from a one-man operation with a borrowed desk and chair into a nationally recognised bridging lender operating across England, Wales and Scotland.

Founded by CEO Jonathan Sealey in 2011, Hope Capital was built around a determination to challenge the traditional approach to bridging finance by offering brokers and borrowers greater speed, flexibility, transparency and specialist expertise.

Over the past 15 years, Hope Capital Property Finance has continually evolved its proposition in response to the changing needs of the specialist finance market, expanding into Scotland, broadening its residential, refurbishment and commercial lending capabilities, and investing in new technology and processes to make accessing bridging finance faster and more straightforward.

That evolution has seen Hope Capital Property Finance increase its maximum loan size from £1.5m to £5m, complete increasingly complex transactions and significantly expand its funding capacity through institutional partnerships. These include a £75m funding line with Triple Point, a £50m facility with Shawbrook Bank, and £35m of committed wholesale funding from Hampshire Trust Bank (HTB).

People have remained central to Hope Capital’s journey. The business has continued to invest in its team, create opportunities for employees to progress and build a culture focused on collaboration, service and long-term development. This commitment has earned continued external recognition, with Hope Capital recently being named a Top Mortgage Employer for the fifth consecutive year.

The anniversary coincides with another defining moment for the business following its recent move into its new Liverpool headquarters. Three times the size of its previous office and delivered following a significant financial investment, the purpose-designed space provides a new home for Hope Capital’s growing team and reflects the lender’s confidence in its future.

The move captures how far the business has come since its beginnings and provides a platform for Hope Capital as it enters its next chapter.
