Landbay announce new economic webinar covering UK rates and the wider economy
28 September 2026
Buy-to-let lender, Landbay, has today (28th September 2026) announced a new Spotlight webinar looking at where interest rates and the UK economy could be heading over the coming months.
The webinar will be hosted by John Goodall, CEO of Landbay, and feature Kallum Pickering, Chief Economist and Deputy Head of Research at UK investment bank, Peel Hunt.
It will take place online on Friday 2nd October at 11am with the one-hour session open to all mortgage market stakeholders, particularly advisers.
Kallum leads Peel Hunt’s analysis and forecasting across the UK, US and Eurozone economies. He has more than a decade of experience in macroeconomic research, is a columnist for The Daily Telegraph and is a regular contributor to Bloomberg, CNBC and the BBC.
During the webinar, Kallum will offer his latest assessment of where Bank Base Rate could go from here following this month’s decision by the MPC to hold rates at 3.75%.
He will also review prospects for UK economic growth and the potential impact of sustained increases in oil prices on inflation. The session will also consider what advisers should be looking out for when the Chancellor delivers the Budget at the end of October.

John Goodall, CEO of Landbay, said:
“September’s Bank Base Rate decision may have resulted in another hold, but the economic outlook certainly does not feel settled, with inflation pressures continuing and plenty of questions about where rates might go next. Add in the Budget at the end of October and there is a great deal for advisers and their clients to consider over the coming weeks and months. Kallum has a wealth of experience analysing the UK economy and the factors influencing it, so our latest Spotlight webinar session should provide advisers, and other stakeholders, with a valuable opportunity to hear his latest thinking and consider what it could mean for the mortgage market, their own businesses and client considerations.”
