Santander UK responds to the Government's "Your First Home" scheme to support first-time buyers

David Morris, Head of Consumer Lending at Santander UK said:
“Raising a deposit remains one of the biggest hurdles facing first-time buyers today, with many struggling to save alongside paying rent and in some cases childcare costs. We know from our own “My First Mortgage” product, which allows lending of up to 98% LTV, that the right practical support can make a real difference in helping those taking their first steps towards buying a home. It's encouraging to see further Government action in this space aimed at improving access to home ownership and we look forward to reviewing the detail of the “Your First Home” scheme in next month’s Budget.”
