Inspired Lending becomes NACFB Patron
20 October 2026
Inspired Lending, the specialist short-term lender, has become a Patron of the National Association of Commercial Finance Brokers (NACFB), giving the lender closer links with commercial finance brokers across the UK.
The new relationship will give NACFB member brokers access to Inspired Lending’s team and its range of short-term funding options, while giving the lender further opportunities to work directly with brokers through the association’s events, communications and wider member community.
Inspired Lending provides unregulated bridging and refurbishment finance secured against residential, semi-commercial and commercial property, alongside revolving credit facilities, across England, Wales and Scotland, with loans from £250,000 to £5 million.
Backed by private funding from the Pears family, Inspired Lending takes a relationship-led approach to lending, with brokers able to speak directly to the people assessing and making decisions on their cases. The lender considers transactions individually, looking at the borrower, property and proposed exit rather than relying solely on a fixed set of criteria.
The NACFB is the UK’s largest independent trade body for commercial finance brokers, representing more than 1,400 member firms and 3,000 individual brokers. Established in 1992, the association works with its members and Patron Lenders to support professional standards and closer working relationships across the commercial finance market.
Owen Bentley, Sales Director at Inspired Lending, said:
“Specialist lending works best when brokers know who they are dealing with and can have a proper discussion about a case before deciding where it belongs. A set of criteria can tell you a lot, but it cannot tell you how a lender will respond when a valuation comes back differently, the structure changes or something unexpected appears halfway through a transaction.
“That is why being part of the NACFB is important to us. It gives us the chance to spend more time with brokers, understand the types of cases landing on their desks and make sure they know what we can genuinely support. Just as importantly, it gives brokers another route to get to know the people who will actually be making decisions on their cases.
“We want brokers to feel they can bring us a deal early, including the awkward bits, and get a clear answer from somebody who understands the transaction. Becoming an NACFB Patron gives us another way to build those relationships with brokers across the country.”
Jim Higginbotham, Chief Executive Officer at the NACFB, added:
“I am delighted to welcome Inspired Lending as an NACFB Patron. In bridging and refurbishment finance, no two cases are alike, and brokers value a lender that weighs each one on its merits and lets them speak directly to the decision-maker.
“Our Patron Lenders are a vital part of this community. When lenders engage openly with brokers, sharing what they can do and listening to what clients need, brokers are better placed to give confident, well-informed advice, and the businesses they serve are more likely to find the right funding.
“A healthy market is built on relationships as much as products, and I look forward to seeing Inspired Lending build those relationships across our community.”
