Houzecheck highlights its ‘secret sauce’ for greater flexibility in residential surveying

23 October 2026

PropTech surveying firm explains how managing administration and technology gives surveyors greater flexibility to focus on their professional expertise.

Following the SAVA Residential Surveying Expo, Houzecheck is highlighting how its approach to managing the administration and technology behind surveying can give professionals greater flexibility in how they work.

The event, held at Coventry Building Society Arena on 6 October, brought together residential surveyors, trainees, employers and technology providers to discuss the future of the profession.

For Houzecheck, the answer lies in looking beyond the traditional relationship between surveying businesses and their consultant and employed surveyors. Rather than leaving professionals to manage the administrative processes and systems surrounding each instruction, the business provides the operational support and technology needed to help them focus on surveying.

Houzecheck describes this combination of administrative support, managed technology and flexibility as its ‘secret sauce’, allowing its consultant surveyors to concentrate on applying their expertise while the business manages the processes behind their work.

Adrian Hall, surveying director at Houzecheck, said:

“Events like SAVA offer an excellent platform to engage with professionals across the sector, share ideas, and better understand what surveyors need to deliver their services effectively and efficiently.

“Our secret sauce is the way we bring together technology, administration and flexibility. We take care of the processes and systems around the survey, so our surveyors can concentrate on their professional expertise rather than the administration that comes with each instruction.

“We believe that giving surveyors the right support and greater flexibility is an important part of building a model that works for both professionals and customers.”

Founded in 2018, Houzecheck has more than 160 consultant surveyors operating across England and Wales and completes around 21,000 surveys and valuations annually. Surveying volumes increased by 75% during 2025.

Its operating model combines digital workflows and structured reporting with AI-assisted quality assurance, helping to identify potential omissions and improve consistency across reports while leaving professional judgement with the surveyor. Average survey report turnaround is around 2.75 to three days.

Houzecheck believes that the way technology and administrative support are organised is as important as the tools themselves, with the potential to reduce the burden on surveyors while supporting an efficient service for customers.

Adrian Hall continued:

“Technology on its own isn't the answer. What matters is how it is put to work and whether it makes a practical difference to the people using it.

“By managing the technology and administration around surveying, we can give our surveyors the support they need to focus on their work. That combination is central to how we operate and how we believe the sector can make better use of its professional expertise.”
