Twenty7tec partners with Arts University Bournemouth to bring creative thinking into financial technology

Mortgage and wealth technology provider Twenty7tec has partnered with Arts University Bournemouth (AUB) Academy to explore how creative thinking can help address workplace challenges in the financial technology sector.
The collaboration saw Twenty7tec employees take part in AUB Academy's inaugural Creative Away Day, held at the university's Bournemouth campus in October, bringing together creative disciplines and practical business challenges in an industry traditionally driven by technology, data and regulation.
As financial services continues to evolve, businesses face growing demands to innovate, improve efficiency and strengthen collaboration across teams. For Twenty7tec, the initiative provided an opportunity to approach familiar challenges from a different perspective, exploring how creative problem-solving can complement the technical expertise that underpins the business.
The session focused on workload planning, cross-departmental communication and team motivation, using creative techniques to encourage new approaches to everyday business challenges.
Led by AUB's BA (Hons) Fashion Course Leader, Corinna Budnarowska, the day combined the Double Diamond design framework with practical workshops in printmaking and creative writing.
The partnership highlights the value of looking beyond conventional approaches to innovation within financial services, where developing technology is only one part of building effective, adaptable businesses.
Ellisha-Jade, Social Media, PR & Events Manager at Twenty7tec, said:
“It was fantastic to partner with Arts University Bournemouth and do something completely different for a day. Our teams spend so much of their time in the world of technology, finance and data, so having the opportunity to step away from usual routines and inject some creativity into the way we think, and work together was really refreshing.”
Gianluca Di Marco, Talent Development Manager at Twenty7tec, added:
“AUB facilitated a great day with initiatives that helped us think outside the box about our business challenges and provided us with great insights that would have been otherwise missed in the routine of our office.”
The collaboration also demonstrates how partnerships between regional businesses and educational institutions can bring different perspectives into industries that might not traditionally be associated with creative disciplines.
Rob Hill, Head of AUB Academy, said:
“We’re thrilled to have launched our Creative Away Days with Twenty7tec. AUB Academy is increasingly leaning into the business sector, demonstrating how creative problem-solving and hands-on artistic techniques can directly unlock corporate challenges like communication and departmental alignment.
“By combining specialist creative facilitation with practical workplace dynamics, we are helping regional businesses think differently, innovate faster, and build stronger internal connections. This partnership represents a key step forward as part of our Strategy 2030+ commitments to support local enterprise and expand our bespoke offer.”
AUB Academy's Creative Away Days form part of its expanding programme of bespoke corporate learning, designed to help organisations apply creative approaches to commercial and operational challenges.
