Octane Capital joins the BDLA
26 October 2026
Octane Capital has joined the Bridging & Development Lenders Association (BDLA) as a Lender Member.
Octane Capital is a specialist property lender offering bridging, refurbishment and developer exit finance through the intermediary market. Founded in 2017, the lender has provided more than £2.2 billion of finance since inception and was acquired by Aldermore Bank in 2026.
The BDLA is the UK’s only trade association dedicated to representing the interests of bridging and development lenders and their customers. Its membership brings together lenders and associate firms from across the sector, including funders, legal firms, valuers, technology providers and other professional services businesses.
Adam Tyler, CEO of the BDLA, commented:
“Octane Capital’s decision to join the BDLA is another sign of the increasing engagement we are seeing from established lenders across the bridging and development finance sector.
“The market has developed considerably in recent years, and with that growth comes a greater need for lenders to work collectively on the standards, challenges and opportunities that will shape its future. Octane brings considerable experience of the specialist property market to our membership, and we look forward to having Richard and the team involved in those conversations.”
Richard Deacon, Managing Director (Sales) at Octane Capital, said:
“The specialist lending market has matured significantly, but there’s still plenty of work to do collectively to continue to grow the reputation and understanding of our sector amongst a wider audience.
“Joining the BDLA gives us the chance to play a more active role in that work. By sharing our experience and working alongside other lenders, we can help promote high standards, improve understanding of specialist finance and make sure the sector has a strong, united voice on the issues that matter.”
