Rockingham advice permissions withdrawn by FSA

13 August 2010

Pension adviser Rockingham Retirement has been ordered to cease all investment advising activities by the FSA. The Peterborough-based firm, registered as Rockingham Independent, has had its permissions to advise on investments and pension transfers removed. It has reportedly been investigated by the regulator for its marketing of pension plans invested in life settlement products. In June, Rockingham voluntarily closed the advice side of the business and shut its website as a result of the FSA probe. Rockingham will still be allowed to arrange direct offer annuity contracts.
