Lloyds Banking Group attracts over 22,000 complaints in six months

Lloyds Banking Group has remained top of the Financial Ombudsman Service's twice -yearly list of worst complaints offers, after attracting more than 22,000 complaints in the six months to the end of June. Lloyds TSB attracted 12,750 complaints in six months, while Bank of Scotland attracted 6,211. Barclays and HSBC attracted 7,991 and 3,286 respectively, while Santander attracted 4,881. Aviva was again the life company with the most complaints against it brought to the Ombudsman. Aviva Life and Pensions attracted 481 complaints, while Prudential was close behind with 426. Legal & General's life assurance division attracted 298, Scottish Widows 178 and Standard Life 170. AXA Winterthur, Clerical Medical and Skandia saw 69, 31 and 32 complaints against them taken to the Ombudsman respectively. Sesame attracted the most complaints of any IFA firm, with 108 new cases taken to the Ombudsman against the IFA national. Multi-tied sales force St James's Place attracted 38 complaints, while multi-tied network Openwork attracted 49. Norwich & Peterborough Building Society, which advised around 3,100 of its clients to invest in Keydata policies, received 38 complaints. Published by CityWire
