Platform selection tool extends service to include consideration of non-charge aspects
09 May 2011
MarketWatch has confirmed that their AdviserAsset platform charge comparison tool is being extended to include comparison of the non-charge aspects of platforms. AdviserAsset was first launched as a platform charge comparison tool on 24 May 2010 and has attracted over 10,000 IFA users in less than a year. The extension to the tool will enable IFAs to compare platforms across some 200 non-charge features including reputation and financial standing, fund and asset types, fund availability, tax wrappers, functionality, discretionary portfolio management, accessibility, support and terms and conditions. Colin Turton, Director of MarketWatch said “our research has shown that IFAs are looking for a simple way of specifying their platform requirements and comparing platforms against these requirements. Our tool has therefore been developed as a diagnostic which will enable IFAs to do just that. We have followed the guidance of the FSA in developing this extension to AdviserAsset. All of the data contained in the tool is being validated by the platforms and the IFAs who have been involved in the design and testing.” The extension to AdviserAsset will be launched on 24 May to coincide with the one year anniversary of the launch of the tool.
